Happy Holidays 2018 (11/22)

Wishing everyone a happy holiday and safe New Year! 2018 is wrapping up and it's been quite a year for storm chasing and traveling for me. As 2018 winds down, I am getting ready for what 2019 may bring.

In the meantime, I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday with friends and family.

Hurricane Michael Devastates NW FL (10/10)

Hurricane Michael was a powerful hurricane that devastated the Florida Panhandle area near and east of Panama City on October 10, 2018 as a strong category 4 (or borderline 5) hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 155 MPH and a central pressure of 919 mb! I was on this storm and a full chase log on it is now available in the STORM CHASING section on tropical observations in the STORM CHASING section of my website under HURRICANE MICHAEL 2018.

Hurricane Season 2018 Underway (9/14)

The Atlantic hurricane season got extremely busy in early September of 2018. I conducted two tropical cyclone observations, one was tropical storm Gordon in South Florida, and the other hurricane Florence in North Carolina. Be sure to check the STORM CHASING section on tropical observations in the STORM CHASING section of my website under TROPICAL STORM GORDON and HURRICANE FLORENCE in 2018.
